This year may be improving for many, but the pains of losing love ones continue long after they are gone. Recently, we have both experienced loss and have friends who have lost relatives. No matter how we lose them (tragically or due to short or long illnesses, etc), we all suffer when these relational ties are broken.
How do you deal with loss and grief? Do you take time to grieve or you keep it all in? It is important to acknowledge your feelings and allow yourself and your family time to grieve and heal.
There are many ways to do so. Here are some to consider:
- Spend some time in prayer and reflection.
- Speak to a licensed counselor and/or a professional experienced in this field.
- Share your feeling and thoughts with a trusted friend or family member.
- Call local or national hotlines for help: Crisis Call Center (800) 273-8255 or text CARE to 839863 or National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: 800-273-TALK (8255)
We are here to help if you need more resources with coping with the death of loved ones. Don’t suffer in silence, reach out for help.
