One of the lessons 2020 taught us is the importance of touch. When situations arise that force us to be isolated from others, we miss the gift of touch that characterized so much of our lives. Now that we are in 2021, many governments and organizations are trying to bring a sense of normalcy back to their areas by allowing larger groups of people to congregate or opening more public facilities. For some, this is a welcomed update to quarantine life, for others, this can be scary. Regardless of what is going on in life and the changes implemented in society, we realize we still need and miss touch when its gone.
There are many ways we can still reach out and touch the ones we love. We can physically visit some (while protecting ourselves and others), do virtual family/friends visits, make phone calls or send emails. Technology has made it possible to reach out and connect with others (even if it doesn’t replace the actual face-to-face interaction), and for now it works as best as it can.
How have you been able to cope with not being able to touch and see your loved ones?
And if you have been able to visit loved ones, how great was it to embrace them again?
Have you come up with creative ways to virtually touch family and friends? Let us know! We would love to hear. You can comment or send us a note and we can submit in the future post.
No matter what the situation, stay safe and healthy, reach out to your friends and family and continue to pray and support each other.
