The season of giving thanks is here! This is the time to consider all your blessings and thank God for all He has done and continues to do for you and your loved ones. As you know, this season is also a very difficult time for many. We often encourage you to do more on and around Thanksgiving to those who are visibly or invisibly suffering. With the recent deadly fires in California, consider donating to these organizations to help bring hope to those who need it. Here are a handful:
The Sacramento Seventh-day Adventist Church/Project Paradise – Barbara Ralls, the Community Services Leader, is asking for gift card donations (from Walmart, Target, Safeway, WinCo, Raley’s, Trader Joes, and Grocery Outlets). Her contact in Chico says they have plenty of other donations, and these would be most helpful. These cards can be dropped off at the church or mailed to the church at 6045 Camellia Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95819 before Nov 25. (See more at http://www.saccentral.org/project-paradise/) You can also donate to Project Paradise online at adventistgiving.org
The Salvation Army – Please specify that you would like your donation to go towards The Camp Fire aid. Mail donations to: The Salvation Army , P.O. Box 348000, Sacramento, CA 95834; call #530-776-1009 or #800-725-2769 or donate online: https://deloro.salvationarmy.org/
The United Way of Northern California – Go to to donate, or text “BUTTEFIRE” to 91999. The fund will provide emergency money to victims and aid the United Way in its response to the fire.
These are just a few of the many charitable organizations and projects set up to help. There are plenty more, so do your research and give to a reputable one. Also, do not forget your own local agencies in your communities as well. Have a blessed Thanksgiving week.
