The year is quickly coming to an end. We are in the midst of the holiday season, and as many run to and fro shopping and wrapping gifts, this month is also a great time to review the year that will soon be in the past.
Before making New Year resolutions or goals, consider taking some time to reflect on the blessings, losses, and lessons learned in 2023. These can be powerful stepping stones to help shape your new year’s goals and what you would like to accomplish moving forward. You may realize that instead of having a brand new aspiration, you didn’t complete a similar one just a few months ago!
It is also a good month to reassess your motivating factors, support systems, and tools you will need to move forward with your new goals.
Finally, with only a few days to go until January, resist the urge (and anxiety) to rush into making promises that cannot be kept. There is no rule stating you must start your resolutions on January 1st (or even in that month). It is better to take time to plan out your life and make habit modifications so that they last (we can help with this).
It has been a beautiful and challenging year, but once again, we see how God has kept us and blessed us with another year.
We at The Peters Place would like to wish you all a safe and meaningful holiday season and a very blessed 2024.
