“Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding” Proverbs 4:1
Father’s day is usually celebrated on the third Sunday in June. Like any other special day, companies market to the masses by advertising gifts for the upcoming day and much money is spent on these, but have we spent as much time encouraging these recipients?
The U.S. has seen a rise in absentee fathers. Many do not have a father figure in the household and father’s day may even be a painful day for many. As you know, we at The Peters Place focus on encouragement and empowerment for families, and we want to encourage you to continue to show your appreciation for the fathers you know. Especially with father’s day past, consider praying, calling, and lifting up fathers and father-figures in your life. Identify the ones who may have been struggling or those who are recovering from different painful life experiences, and using tact, reach out to them. We all need encouragement so be generous with your thanks and appreciation daily.
