The month of November is synonymous with Thanksgiving, but you don’t have to wait until that day to show your gratitude for others. This month, be intentional with your thankfulness. We have mentioned some of these in the past, but it is important to say them again:
- Back to Basics: Remember please and thank you? Plan to use these words even more than before.
- Thank Your Service People: Show your appreciation to your local service people. Consider bringing a gift basket to your local police, fire or sanitation team for example.
- Rekindle Relationships: Life gets busy at times and our relationships suffer when we have no time to connect with others. Call a friend or family member to rekindle that relationship.
- Keep A Gratitude Journal: If you haven’t done an activity like this before, today is a good day to start. Have a dedicated notebook or digital notepad for journaling. On Day 1, write as many blessings and things you are thankful for. If this is difficult, write only one thing. On Day 2, write something new. As the days progress, write other items that you are grateful for. Before long, you may find your journal filling up. Whenever you feel down, browse through the journal to be reminded of all your blessings.
