Winter time is either loved or hated by many. For the millions who live in countries where the white stuff visits our lives for many months, stop hibernating and start embracing the season. Here are some suggestions on how to enjoy the winter wonderland:
1) First of all, bundle up properly: Frostbite and frozen fingers are no fun. Before you venture into the cold, invest in proper winter gear from the head to toe. Good gear will keep you warm and dry, but will also repeal snow and rain. Don’t forgot hats (especially those that cover the ears), scarves, thick winter gloves and wool socks when you are planning to head out. Good gear will keep you warm and dry, but will also repeal snow and rain.
2) Experiment With The Usual Winter Sports: If you have never tried skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing or sledding, it’s time to get adventurous. Plan a trip to a ski resort and take a beginner skiing or snowboard class. You may just discover your love for a sport that you never considered before.
3) Try A Lesser Known Winter Activity: Ever heard of snowshoeing, ice climbing, winter hiking or ice fishing? There a bunch of lesser know winter activities just waiting for you to try. Some are easy and safe for beginners, other will require some experience or enrolling in a class. Whatever you choose, do some research and try something new this winter.
4) Stay Home and Have Fun: If you are still not interested in any of the activities mentioned earlier, there are still a few fun things you can do around your home. You can build a snowman or a snow-fort, have a (friendly) snowball fight or go winter-camping in your yard.
No matter what you decide, go outside, get some fresh winter air and enjoy the great snowy outdoors.
