This winter, we have been reading the book named ‘The Ministry Of Healing’ by Ellen G. White. We have come to very important line in the book that bears repeating and expounding:
“Every Christian is to be a missionary. In sympathy and compassion we are to minister to those in need of help, seeking with unselfish earnestness to lighten the woes of suffering humanity” pg 104
Many of us love to hear the (sometimes) exotic stories from missionaries who return from their overseas adventures. They encourage us, motivate us and empower us with zeal to go on these overseas missions to win souls for Christ. But what about the local mission trips…in our neighborhoods, our schools, on our workplaces, in our homes. We are called to be missionaries right where we are. Even if we never board a plane, we are called to live a missionary life.
Today, you are called to be God’s missionary. Your story, your testimony is an exotic story to someone. Learn to tell your story and how Jesus found you and lead you to Himself, then live a life totally dedicated to Him. If you call yourself a Christian, you are already a missionary. Serve Him today.
