There is nothing more disheartening as not having a choice in a matter. In some instances, there is only one option that we are forced to select on an issue and it might go in direct opposition to our morals. This can bring us much stress, anguish and can depress us. When it comes to Christianity, we have a choice. The first basic choice in faith is to choose or not to choose that faith, and the second is to live or not live by it.
In the book The Ministry of Healing, this poignant point is mentioned:
“God has given us the power of choice; it is ours to exercise. We cannot change our hearts, we cannot control our thoughts, our impulses, our affections. We cannot make ourselves pure, fit for God’s service. But we can choose to serve God, we can give Him our will; then He will work in us to will and to do according to His good pleasure. Thus our whole nature will be brought under the control of Christ”
God had blessed us with a free will to choose Him and to live for Him and for others. If we give our will to Him, He will lead and direct us in His service. We have a choice, let’s choose Christ today and always.
