The month of May is recognized as Mental Health month. As individuals and institutions focus more on mental health, more resources become available in the form of apps, forms, books, and other modalities. But what about the Bible? Do you know there are scriptures that speak about mental health? Here are just some verses to be ‘mindful’ of:
Romans 8:5-6 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Romans 12:16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
1 Corinthians 10:12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
2 Corinthians 13:11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.
Philippians 2:3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
The Bible is not just for reading, but for studying, for instruction and for being our guide in our lives. Prayerfully go over these verses and incorporate these principles today.
