Getting Help

Posted on September 17, 2019Comments Off on Getting Help

It may be humbling, but there is nothing braver than getting help when needed. For some, asking for help may seem to be a sign of weakness but it is not. We all need each other and when we are down, we cannot pull ourselves out of a ditch. Get help.

The first and most important thing to start the process is to first admit you need help. Whatever the situation, be honest with yourself and tell yourself you need help. Whether it is spiritually, socially, financially or physically, admit to your need and move forward.

The next thing to do is to figure where you need to go for help. For some situations you may just need to speak to a friend, family member or a coworker. For other situations, you may need to get professional or medical health. The Bible is filled with people who both asked for help and received it. Here are some encouraging verses:

Psalm 28:7   The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.

Psalm 30:10 Hear, O LORD, and have mercy upon me: LORD, be thou my helper.

Isaiah 41:13  For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

Hebrews 4:16   Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Depression and suicide are on the rise. Disease, famine and disasters are increasing too. You don’t have to look very far to see sadness and suffering all around. Although we are not professionals in any regard, we can help connect you to professionals if you are looking for those in the Spiritual, Counseling, Medical Ministry or Health fields for help. Let’s encourage one another and help one another.
