There is something beautiful about a sunset. The skies transform from white and blue to a stunning yellow, red and orange. Time seems to slow down a bit at sunset, and its no wonder why this moment is used as a metaphor for life.
Just like the sunrise of our lives, the sunsets can be unexpected and unplanned. Sunsets can represent loss, death, sickness and disappointment. They may shake our foundations and leave us feeling vulnerable and depressed; but sunsets are also a thing of beauty; they also bring us encouragement and hope. The sunset proclaims that night is coming, but we can take heart, without the sun setting, there can’t be a new day. The Bible says in Psalm 30:5 “…weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning”. It’s hard to enjoy the ‘sunset’ when it brings pain and anguish, but we can hold onto our faith, our families, our support systems until our ‘mornings’ come. Be encouraged during the sunsets of your life, and if you need help for whatever that is ailing you, send us a comment or an email and we will be happy to help.
